Before we became SkillsUSA Maine in 2004, SkillsUSA Maine chartered as a state member of the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America in 1966. This was because of a national push to bring validation and recognition to the students in trade education. Over the years we have grown to be a proud champion of the skilled trades. Our vision is to produce the most highly skilled workforce in the world, providing every member the opportunity for career success.
SkillsUSA is America’s proud champion of the skilled trades. We’re a diverse, student-led organization building the future skilled workforce with graduates who are career ready, day one. A nonprofit national education association, SkillsUSA serves middle-school, high-school and college/postsecondary students preparing for careers in trade, technical skilled service occupations.
